JWJC SEES STEADY GROWTH
by Michael Tomalaris

Numbers in the Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic have steadily grown since the inaugural event in 2003.
Many say its is the best event of its kind in NSW and less congested than other social rides of its type.
In 2008, cycling enthusiasts from as afar afield as Port Macquarie in the north, Nowra in the south and Canberra in the west travelled to southern Sydney to take part.
See below for comments from those who have previously supported the JWJC.

"I found that the staged sections to enable re-grouping, made the ride less gruelling and more relaxing as you rode with comfort knowing that the faster chaps would be waiting. It was a beautiful social occasion."

Michael Micelli - Sydney

"The Johnny Warren Classic is a great opportunity to do a strong post New Year ride through some great parts of the National Park, the scenic coast north of Wollongong, and the Southern Highlands in one day. It's all for a great cause too. Johnny was an absolute legend and there's no better way to end the day than with a couple of lazy ales and a meat pie at the Warren family pub."

Chris Ray - Hunters Hill

"An opportunity to ride with friends, take in the great scenery and then lunch at the Jamberoo pub all in the name of a great cause - what better way to spend a Sunday than to participate in the Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic."

Alan Coutts
Deputy Director-General
NSW Department of Primary Industries

"The Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic ride just gets bigger and better each year. This will be my 3rd classic ride. There is a welcoming spirit within the pack with riders at different levels. The designated stops are used to re-group everyone and also “fuel up”. The best part of the ride is entering picturesque Jamberoo with a feeling of achieving something and being part of a community ride. I look forward to finishing my 3rd ride and having a well deserved beer/coke at the end."

Emile Chantiri - Hunters Hill
