THE JWJC IS THE PERFECT APPETISER
FOR THE TOUR DOWN UNDER
by Michael Tomalaris

Seven time winner of the Tour de France, Lance Armstrong has chosen Australia as his first stop for his much anticipated comeback to the professional cycling scene in 2009.
The Tour Down Under, to be held in South Australia from January 18-25, is expected to be inundated by several thousand cycling enthusiasts, from all over Australia, keen to catch a glimpse of one of the world's living sporting legends.
Armstrong has made no secret his comeback to world cycling is based around his attempts to lift the profile of cancer research through his Livestrong Foundation.
Many social rides have been scheduled in South Australia around the race itself so taking part in the Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic in the weeks prior to the TDU provides an ideal opportunity to take in more preparation and valuable training - at the same time be involved in a great social ride and help raise funds for the Sydney Cancer Centre.
Those who have ridden in any of the past five JWJCs say it's the best event of its type in Australia.
Unlike many other social charity bike rides, the JWJC is targetted towards the more serious two-wheeled warriors who spend more than one or two weekends a year on their machines.
Be part of the fun and make sure you enjoy the experience of the Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic on January 4, 2009.
